Community is very important to everyone at London Honda and recently we had the opportunity to support Community Living London’s Annual Night of Heroes event. Pictured here is London Honda sales specialist, Roy Ellis presenting a cheque for $1000 to CLL Finance Manager, Brian Sim-Little.
Here’s an overview of this important event from Anna Szczuka, the Development & Communications Coordinator for Community Living London.
23rd Annual Night of Heroes
On Thursday February 26th, Community Living London hosted the 23rd Annual Night of Heroes Fashion Show and Silent Auction at our new location, The London Convention Centre. This event set to ensure various unsung heroes in the community received the praise and recognition they deserve.
During this truly inspiring evening, local heroes were paired with people supported by Community Living London, dressed up in clothing provided by local retailers, and given the opportunity to showcase their moves on the runway. Among the heroes honoured at the event:
· London Police Officers
· Jeremy Grace- The Up High Movement
· Tonia and Colleen- Coupons for Hunger
· Melissa Power- For the Love of Laundry
· Dale Martin- Canada’s Favourite Crossing Guard
· Shayne Hodgson- Big Bike Giveaway
· Michelle Palmer- Pillar Nonprofit Network
· Steve Revington- Top 50 Finalist – Global Teacher Prize
· Al Green- Recipient of Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award
Last year, with over 520 people in attendance Night of Heroes raised over $76,000 towards the organization’s programs and services. This year the event hit record attendance with over 640 people in the ballroom. The funds raised benefit the various programs and services that Community Living London offers to adults and children in London. Community Living London believes in an inclusive community and this inspiring event truly celebrates everyone.
